President Ilham Aliyev receives Executive Chairman of the Formula 1 Group
On February 13, Baku City Circuit Operations Company (BCC), promoter of Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, and Azerbaijan Automobile Federation co-organized an international conference on “Benefits of Hosting Major Sports Events - 2018” at Heydar Aliyev Center. Chase Carey, who attended the conference as a speaker, was received by President Ilham Aliyev together with Azad Rahimov, Minister of Youth and Sports.
During the meeting, organizational issues of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix and its contribution to the development of tourism sector and international promotion of the country were highlighted. In his remarks, Chase Carey emphasized excellent organization of the race in Baku.
It was not Mr. Chase Carey’s first visit to Azerbaijan. Last June, he visited Azerbaijan and met President Ilham Aliyev.
