During the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2024 race week, Baku City Circuit Operations Company (BCC) hosted its traditional media tour for international press representatives. This annual event, which always garners great interest, provides journalists with the opportunity not only to experience the thrill of the race but also to explore Azerbaijan’s rich history and natural beauty.
The media tour began at Gobustan State Historical and Cultural Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, foreign journalists were introduced to the museum and given detailed information about Azerbaijan’s history and ancient rock carvings.
The tour continued at the Mud Volcano Tourism Complex, where international media representatives learned about the unique features of mud volcanoes and viewed a model of the phenomenon. Journalists also visited the exhibition hall and workshop, where they were briefed on nearly 80 rare minerals collected from various regions of Azerbaijan.
The media tour concluded in Icherisheher (Old City), where the international media representatives explored the ancient streets and history of this historic part of Baku.
It’s worth noting that this year, nearly 300 local and international media representatives will be covering the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2024.
